An installation that explores the vital role of family love and warmth in shaping a child’s growth and future. Inspired by real stories of individuals who experienced childhood trauma and abuse, this piece seeks to raise awareness about the lasting negative effects of a lack of familial support. To convey this message, I interviewed people who bravely shared their experiences, and their stories are symbolically represented through stuffed animals — a powerful contrast between the innocence of childhood and the hidden pain beneath the surface. This work urges viewers to reflect on the unseen struggles many children endure and the importance of nurturing environments.

Hero the Penguin ...
My childhood was wonderful, but everything changed after my grandmother’s passing. My father became a different person—someone I no longer recognize. Despite my efforts to reconnect with him, he continues to push me away.

LuLu the Bunny...
My father left us when I was a child, forcing me to grow up quickly and rely on myself at a young age. This experience shaped me in many ways, teaching me resilience and independence.

Courage the Puppy...
My childhood was filled with hardship and trauma. I endured years of sexual assault, physical abuse, and emotional turmoil, which deeply affected my well-being. But despite the pain, I made the decision to face my fears and push forward—not only for myself but also for the safety of my family.

Sugar the Brown Bear...
I had a beautiful childhood, but as I grew older, things became more difficult. My parents were always fighting, and I constantly felt the need to protect my mother. Over time, these struggles shaped me into a negative person. However, I am now on a journey to change that—to heal and embrace a more positive outlook.

Joy the Purple Bear...
I was a happy child until I experienced abuse, which changed everything. As a consequence, I developed deep trust issues—not only toward strangers but even within my own family.
